Larry Flannery, widower of Nancy Vallier Flannery, of Muskegon passed away Wednesday evening May 23, 2018. He was born to Donna (Morse) and Elmer Flannery on March 8, 1946 in Muskegon. Larry served his country in the US Army 1965-1967 stationed at the Presidio Army Base in San Francisco, CA with the Military Patrol. He married the love of his life, Nancy, on September 2, 1995. She preceded him in death after 19 years of marriage. Larry retired from Bay Logistics in 2011, after enjoying a career as a long haul truck driver. Aside from his family, Larry loved gardening, playing cards and following NASCAR racing. His life was marked by a generous and caring spirit.
Larry is survived by his children: Suzette (Bill) Flannery-Gathen of Grandville, Jeff (Jennifer) Flannery of Norton Shores, Frank (Roxanne) Vallier of Fruitport, Kari Vallier of Muskegon, Kevin Vallier of Norton Shores, and Kirk (Lisa) Vallier of Ada; 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Nancy, he was also preceded in death by his brother David E. Flannery.
A Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at First Congregational Church of Fruitport 3212 E. Pontaluna Road Fruitport, MI 49415. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association (http://www.heart.org.)
