Life Story / Obituary


Mr. William Robert Sullivan, age 84, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. He was born in Petoskey, Michigan on August 5, 1931 to Glenn & Dora (Armstrong) Sullivan and served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Carolyn Sissener on August 2, 1958. Mr. Sullivan had been employed by Lorin Industries and Chicago Bridge & Iron building water towers for years until retiring. William was a member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. He was a drummer for dance bands and enjoyed traveling and fixing things. Spending time with his grandchildren was always his favorite.


Wife of 58 years, Carolyn; daughters, Debra (Charles) Smith of TX , Susan (Lisa Claus) Sullivan of Ada; son, Robert (Kayley) Sullivan of WA; grandchildren, Tyler & Shelby; brothers, Howard Sullivan, Barry (Wendy) Sullivan; sisters, Gaylon VanHouten, Nancy (Roger) Warmolts, Mary Lou (Jay) Huffman; many nieces & nephews; 3 grandpups, Clarice, Ada & Polo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael & Gene Sullivan.


Saturday, August 13, 2016, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan J. Hagans officiating and Military Honors under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice Foundation or Alzheimer's Association.
