Mr. Melvin Wesley Currier Sr., age 77, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017. He was born in Sumner, Michigan on September 8, 1939 to Clarence & Sarah (Burton) Currier. Mr. Currier had been employed as a saw operator at Story & Clark and The Worden Company in Holland. Melvin enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, feeding the birds and growing plants. But spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him the most joy. He will be greatly missed.
Children, Shawn Currier Sr., Cheryl (Steve) Poel, Dana (Bill) DeWitte; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; brothers, Willard "Bill" (Rose) Currier, Clarence L. (Lillian) Currier, Franklin D. Currier; mother of his children; Pamela Rose Potter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Melvin W. Currier Jr.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Sunday, June 11, 2017, 1:00 pm, a picnic and free fishing event in Melvin’s memory will be held at Riverside Park, 10317 N Cedar Dr, Grand Haven, MI 49417. MEMORIAL: Sportsmen for Youth.
