Mr. Marvin Edward VanderNoot, age 91, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on April 9, 1924 to Martin & Maria (Senn) VanderNoot and graduated from Grand Haven High School and University of LaSalle. Marv was proud to serve his country in the US Army during World War II. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Kathleen Gronevelt on July 12, 1946 and was a 35 year employee of Challenge Stamping & Porcelain CO. After retiring in 1979, Marv was custodian at Second Christian Reformed Church where he and Katie were former members and now attend First Christian Reformed Church. He was active in the Grand Haven community, was a member of the North Ottawa Rod & Gun Club, American Legion-Charles A Conklin Post 0028 and Second Christian Reformed Church Men's Society. Marv was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trout fishing, hunting, traveling and kayaking. Marv's smile, stories and advise will be greatly missed by many including his "Clock family".

SURVIVORS

Wife of 69 years, Katie; son, Ronald (Jennifer Vert) VanderNoot of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Adam (Patience) Jensen, Stephanie Sherouse, Kevin (Najat) Jenson, Jacobie VanderNoot; great grandchildren, Dakota, Michael & Zachery Jensen, Joseph & Maxwell Sherouse; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Floring; brothers, Nelson, Neil & Stuart VanderNoot; sister, Frances.

SERVICE

Saturday, April 9, 2016, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Grand Haven with Rev. Tom Pettinga officiating and Military Honors. Interment in Spring Lake Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Grand Haven Christian Schools.
