Mr. Ross Arthur Loomis, age 78, passed away January 1, 2007 in Muskegon. Mr. Loomis was born March 14, 1928 to Arthur and Grace (Nuttall) Loomis in Mancelona, MI. On July 29, 1949 he married the former Gladys J. Willbrandt. Mr. Loomis spent 30 years in the auto body repair business. He was the owner of Central Auto Body in Grand Haven for 12 years and also worked as an insurance adjuster for 12 years. Ross built several homes for his children throughout the years before retiring in 1999. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. His SURVIVORS include his beloved wife of 57 years, Gladys; children, Michael (Karen) Loomis of Orlando, FL, Gregory (Mary) Loomis of Muskegon, Lynette (Daryl) Falkowski of Rural Hall, NC and Scott Loomis of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, Tracy (Andrew) Loomis, Kelly (Will) Walker, Anthony Loomis, Clinton (Lindsay) Loomis, Lisa (Aaron) Potts, Ross Loomis, Joshua (Karen) Falkowski, Jared (Nicole) Falkowski, Derek (Katy) Loomis and Nickolas Loomis; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Larabee and Alberta Morse both of Muskegon, Eleanor (Lloyd) Cochran of Holton, Alfreda Hoppes of Lyons and Bonnie Baker of Lenoir, NC; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Loomis was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Lavina Rierson and Carol Pavlick. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1 PM Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 726-5210 with Deacon Jim Shiltz officiating. Interment will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice.
