Mr. Herbert Edwin Peterson, age 92, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 18, 1923 to Edward & Hilder (Larson) Peterson and served his country in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Nicholson. He married the former Dolores Smith on September 13, 1947 and they enjoyed traveling and many years of fostering children and hosting exchange students. Mr. Peterson had been employed as a commercial artist for Studio Five Advertising and Shaw Box until retiring. Herbert was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church, Mona Lake Boating Club, Model A Club, VFW Lt. Wilbur Leroy Boyer Post #3195 and Life Member of VFW William J Beal Post #446. Herb enjoyed painting water colors and drawing pencil caricatures. He will be greatly missed.

SURVIVORS

Sons, Thomas (Tracy) Peterson, Charles Peterson, both of Muskegon; daughters, Lynn Peterson, Jane (Leonard) Brown, Katherine (Christopher) Strandberg, all of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores in 2004; a daughter, Pamela Kelley in 2001 & grandson, Andy Kelley; sister, Helen.

SERVICE

Monday, August 8, 2016, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery with Military Honors. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, please give to the American Red Cross.
